You’ll feel very relaxed and drowsy (almost like being in “la-la land”), but you’ll still be breathing on your own and able to respond to simple instructions. Stick to a soft food diet for 7–10 days. Here are some good options:
Carbs: well-cooked pasta, mashed potatoes, ripe bananas, avocado, baked sweet potatoes, oatmeal, pudding, pancakes.
Protein: Greek yogurt, scrambled eggs, soft baked fish (no crust), smoothies (with optional protein powder), milkshakes (with a spoon—no straw), beans, warm soups, tofu, cottage cheese, soft cheese, hummus, meatloaf, chicken or tuna salad (without crunchy veggies).
Treats: applesauce, smoothies without seeds, ice cream, soft cake.
